About This Project

Clerckenwell, London, 2015-2018. This project involved the complete refurbishment of the Grade II listed Pub and the erection of a 5 storey mixed use New Build in the adjoining plot. The pub’s cellar was converted into a usable space as extra sitting area, using heat recovery mechanical ventilation. The New Build’s basement is providing the kitchen area for the pub. The two buildings are connected through the basement and at ground level through a glazed link. The uniqueness of this project is the use of the ground waters of Clerckenwell, as a source of renewable energy, for the heating and cooling of both buildings.
